To communicate the excitement and importance of marine mammal research and conservation, we have written a children's book - *A Seal Named Patches*. It tells the story of researchers flying in helicopters and driving snow machines across the ice in Antarctica, looking for one Weddell seal who has been studied for 30 years. The book is full of facts about seal behavior, physiology, ecology, and more.
