To communicate the excitement and importance of marine mammal research and conservation, we have written a children's book - A Seal Named Patches. 

It tells the story of researchers flying in helicopters and driving snow machines across the ice in Antarctica, looking for one Weddell seal who has been studied for 30 years. The book is full of facts about seal behavior, physiology, ecology, and more. 

The book is 48 pages (targeted for ages 4-8) and is available now on Amazon. Proceeds will be used to provide bilingual Spanish-English versions of the book to primarily English Learner schools.
