We encourage your early registration, as on-site lodging is limited and off-site lodging reservations must be made early. The RMA was founded in the early 1980s by a group of applied mathematicians, applied population biologists, fisheries scientists, and resource economists who hold annual meetings and sponsor special sessions at conferences. The RMA publishes the journal Natural Resource Modeling, which was established on the premise that there is a conceptual and methodological core that is common to model building throughout disciplines that include such fields as forestry, fisheries, economics and ecology. This core draws upon the analytical and methodological apparatus of mathematics, statistics, and computer modeling. Areas of special interest in 2007 include natural resource modeling of forests and oceans and public policy issues in the 21st century. Keynote speakers include Marc Mangel (UC Santa Cruz), Greg Amacher (Virginia Tech), and Alan Ek (Univ. Minnesota). The conference will feature a student poster competition, an ocean excursion, a concert, and a special presentation on global warming. We especially encourage graduate students to attend!
