The webinar topics will include basic science concepts related to underwater sound, marine animal sound production/reception, and the potential effects of sound on marine animals. Content will all be derived from peer-reviewed research. Each webinar will last approximately 60 minutes and be comprised of two, 15-20 minute presentations, followed by a period of facilitated discussion. The first webinar of this five-part series will review sound movement/propagation and sound measurement/signal levels as well as ocean noise measurement, variability, and noise budgets.
