While the focus is much on the endangered North Atlantic right whale (Eubalaena glacialis), we have included important articles highlighting the plight and current status of the Southern right whale (Eubalaena australis), and the lesser-known and endangered, North Pacific right whale (Eubalaena japonica). while the printed journal is a premium for our ACS members (join today at www.acsonline.org/membership to receive a hard copy), we appreciate the wider interest in this special issue and believe it important to make this available to the public at large.
