Apply analytical GIS procedures to data relative to marine mammal distributions, environmental information, and marine vessel traffic. Develops vessel traffic GIS files, including quality control. Assists to acquire, manage, and analyze appropriate environmental data including sea surface temperature derived from AVHRR imagery. Maintains metadata documentation. Provides technical and analytical support to FWC staff in their use of GIS and technical tools for natural resource decision-making. Works closely with scientific and technical staff to assist in the maintenance and continued development and deployment of GIS databases and metadata related to our marine mammal program.
