Bigelow Laboratory for Ocean Sciences in East Boothbay, Maine USA is seeking a postdoctoral scientist to help develop right whale (Eubalaena glacialis) distribution models for the coastal Gulf of Maine, with the goal of helping to address management and policy issues. They will work in collaboration with the Maine Department of Marine Resources, using passive acoustic and other sightings data in combination with measured and modeled environmental covariates to build computational / species distribution models. There will be opportunities for the postdoctoral scientist to develop, lead, and co-author manuscripts for publication in the primary research literature as well as to present results at scientific and management meetings.
