Dear all, I am the captain and owner of a 12-meter French aluminum expedition sailing vessel. The boat will reach the waters of Patagonia in December 2025 and will sail to Antarctica for a one-month expedition in February 2026. It will then remain based in the Ushuaia / Puerto Williams area for the coming years. I would like to make this vessel available as a *logistical platform for research and conservation projects focused on marine mammals*, particularly in remote or hard-to-access regions. With access to key ecological areas, including the Beagle Channel, the waters surrounding the Falklands and South Georgia, and the Antarctic Peninsula, the boat offers a flexible, low-impact support base for small research teams or data collection. I previously worked on board a sailing vessel involved in marine mammal data collection in the Mediterranean Sea, which has given me experience in supporting acoustic and visual surveys as well as marine fauna observation protocols. I'm very interested in continuing to contribute to marine mammal research and protection in the Southern Ocean, including through collaborations with scientists or institutions involved in conservation programs. We can host small teams on board, transport equipment, and assist in carrying out predefined protocols or opportunistic observations along our route. The vessel will be equipped with a hydrophone.
