WANTED: EXPERIENCED MARINE MAMMAL PERSONNEL The Marine Team (www.marineteam.com) is looking for suitably qualified personnel for contracts offshore. This involves recording marine mammal sightings and to ensure that oil exploration activities comply with environmental guidelines issued by the governing bodies. This work is vessel based and most contracts last 4-6 weeks. Daily rates of pay depend upon location and contract. The following personnel are required: a.. Marine Mammal Observers b.. Passive Acoustic Monitoring Operators MARINE MAMMAL OBSERVERS Qualifications and experience required: a.. Degree in biological or environmental science, preferably marine biology b.. Experience of working on whale watching vessels or marine mammal research vessels c.. Ability to work in a team PASSIVE ACOUSTIC MONITORING OPERATORS Qualifications and experience required: a.. Degree in biological or environmental science, preferably marine biology b.. Experience of working with passive acoustic monitoring equipment c.. Experience of marine mammal acoustic detection and analysis d..
