Dear all, I was wondering if anyone had determined the absolute mitochondrial DNA copy number in any cetacean brains, or any other tissues. Of particular interest are the killer whale and short finned pilot whale, as they have a long post reproductive lifespan. I have been working with a colleague on a model of mtDNA turnover, but solid numbers for the model are hard to find Many thanks in advance Adrian Davies
