TAKE REDUCTION TEAM (TRT) COORDINATOR NOAA Fisheries Service's Pacific Islands Regional Office is currently accepting applications for a Take Reduction Team (TRT) Coordinator. The person filling this position will ensure Pacific Islands Regional Office (PIRO) compliance with statutory authorities pertaining to take reduction teams, including implementation of the Marine Mammal Protection Act (MMPA) Section 118, coordinating efforts with the Office of Protected Resources, Pacific Islands Fisheries Science Center, the State of Hawaii, and other partners and stakeholders. The person filling this position will also: lead PIRO responsibilities for MMPA take reduction rulemaking, permitting, and coordination with co-managers/stakeholders; serve as PIRO lead on cetacean Take Reduction Issues; and develop PIRO's cetacean take reduction program.
