My name is Blakely Harwell, and I have been researching Mesoplodon peruvianus (Pygmy Beaked Whale) to submit a Mammalian Species Account to the American Society of Mammalogists for publication. I have been working on this account for two years, during which I have compiled data from 14 sources and drafted a preliminary manuscript. I have located a specimen (skull) at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History, and am in the process of getting the rights to use footage captured this year of M. peruvianus. At this stage, I am in search of collaborators with field experience with whales, particularly those with expertise in M. peruvianus.
