As part of our continued growth there are immediate vacancies for the following positions: PAMS OPERATIONAL TECHNICIAN As a PAMS Operational Technician you will be responsible for the maintenance, despatch and receipt of all PAMS equipment. In addition, you will be expected to keep up to date with national and international development of PAMS and implement accordingly. Applicants will ideally be of degree calibre or equivalent in a relevant discipline and possess a full comprehension with the technical composition and use of PAMS. Ideally the candidate would have an understanding of marine mammals, their biology and identification and previous marine survey experience would be advantageous. MARINE MAMMAL SCIENTIST Reporting to the current Marine Wildlife Business Manager, you will be expected to undertaken and develop the application of marine mammal observations, monitoring and recording systems, the compilation and preparation of reports and the processing of observational data and possess a sound knowledge marine mammals, their biology and identification. Ideally you will be of degree calibre or equivalent, and demonstrate the ability to lead and develop projects from implementation to completion and illustrate sound commercial awareness. You will need to be a confident individual with a can do attitude and enjoy being challenged. Previous relevant marine oil and gas or renewable energy industry experience is advantageous. Both positions require the individual to spend in the region of 60 days at sea, dependent on project requirements, with the remaining time being office based (Great Yarmouth). Gardline Environmental Limited's Marine Wildlife Department continues its incredible expansion and increased expertise in this specialist area of our business. It offers a range of services including consultation of methodology and procedures, implementation of monitoring and mitigation measures for a range of industries and countries and comprehensive project reporting service. We are seeking to add to the team numbers and expertise in the following roles; Marine Wildlife Report Writer Reporting to the Marine Wildlife Business Manager, you will responsible for the collation of data relating to fieldwork carried out for particular marine wildlife projects. You will work closely with project managers, wildlife observers and marine scientists to ensure the production and delivery to tight time deadlines of a quality, accurate report to agreed client specifications. Reports are produced in PDF format and also as a hard copy, the ideal candidate must be confident using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. It would also be beneficial if you have experience of using and understanding Adobe Acrobat, Surfer, ArcGIS and Matlab. Ideally you will be of degree calibre or equivalent, and demonstrate a sound knowledge of the marine environment with both a scientific and commercial awareness. You will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills in order to gain and process complex information, present that information clearly and concisely and think logically, critically and decisively. This is an office based position in Great Yarmouth, but you may be required to undertake occasional travel around the world. Marine Wildlife Observer The ideal candidate will undertake a wide variety of wildlife surveys, including marine mammal observations, passive acoustic monitoring, seabird and environmental impact activities in the field, as well as providing general assistance to the project managers, lead scientists and report writer with the production of marine wildlife reports. You will be responsible for the appropriate collection and processing of data both at sea and in the office. This role will require you to work in the office (based in Great Yarmouth), but we have an expectation that you will spend approximately 120 days at sea, at locations worldwide, dependent on project requirements, during a 12-month period. Applicants will ideally be of degree calibre or equivalent in a relevant discipline and possess an understanding of marine mammals and seabirds, their biology and identification. As the Marine Wildlife Project Manager, you will have the attitude and ability to take on the range of challenges associated with this role, from the marketing of our company and its capabilities, to the final delivery of reports to the customer. You will also be responsible for organising the agreed resources to perform the survey and managing the persons engaged to work on each project. You will be required to liaise with all relevant departments both in Australia and in the UK building effective working relationships and leading communications regarding the assessment, preparation and submission of tenders. Occasionally, you may also be required to perform survey duties. Once a project is awarded, you will co-ordinate and manage projects, working closely with the field staff making sure they are able to deliver and are aware of the specific survey requirements. You will also ensure all reporting, financial, contractual, quality and HSE specifications are met, as well as any other obligations that are agreed. These must be in accordance with the Company's HSSE and QA standards. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in the marine wildlife industry, specifically knowledge and experience of marine mammals and underwater acoustics. You will have been involved with, or participated significantly on projects in the office or in the field. You must have excellent written and verbal communication skills and be able to work to tight deadlines. You will also have the ability to lead and deliver tasks and projects from implementation to completion, maintaining communications with all relevant parties involved. Ideally you will have a degree in a marine science related subject, strong IT skills and an organised, methodical approach to administration.
