The US Fish and Wildlife Service currently has a comment period open for its proposed CITES actions at the next Conference of the Parties in 2013. They have three categories
of proposals – those they will sponsor, those they are still considering, and those they have decided not to sponsor. Polar bears are in the “still considering” category. The links below give additional details about this situation, if you are interested
in submitting public comments on this process.
