Dear Fellow Marine Mammal Aficionados,
I am pleased to announce the publication of my book on dolphin behavior, Secrets behind the Dolphin Smile – 25 Amazing Things Dolphins Do. I thank Hal and Luke for inspiration from their work on cetacean culture, and Wiebke Finkler for encouragement from her MMS Nova Scotia seminar on getting marine mammal science together with the public.
If you are interested in the idea of cetacean culture, or compelled by it as I am, Secrets behind the Dolphin Smile is a good read. The behaviors it describes could be cultural differences across different bottlenose dolphin study areas, and in my view probably are.

--Upon seeing the shore, the little wave cried,
"We're going to crash!"
So the sea whispered back,
"Don't you know you are not a wave, little one?
You are part of the ocean."
