We are pleased to announce the new publication of a new book about ocean science and marine mammals - Ocean Journeys: Beginnings by Dr. Brandon Southall. This book is loosely autobiographical and largely centered on the natural history, biology, and human history of fascinating ocean places in Hawai’i, the Florida Keys, and northern California, and other scenes.

Ocean Journeys traces the formative years of a young marine biologist finding his footing in the natural world. It flows from warm lakes and cold streams to captivating scenes in living, studying, and conserving the sea. This story is about the sea – its beauty, its resilience and fragility, and our obligation to serve as responsible stewards finding common ground for renewed action.
