Dear MARMAM community,

We are pleased to share our latest work "Understanding fishery interactions with marine megafauna in the Canary Islands".

This article examines interactions between commercial fisheries and marine megafauna in the Canary Islands, based on 232 interviews conducted across 31 fishers’ guilds. It identifies the main types of interactions—collaborative behavior, depredation and gear damage, and incidental capture—highlighting their ecological and economic implications. The study emphasizes the need for targeted management strategies to support both species conservation and sustainable fisheries.
