Dear MARMAM community,
The U.S. Bureau of Ocean Energy Management (BOEM) has opened a 45-day public comment period for the 11th National Outer Continental Shelf (OCS) Oil and Gas Leasing Program. This program outlines potential offshore oil and gas lease sales, including areas off the coast of California. The comment period began on April 30, 2025, and will close on June 16, 2025.
Given the potential impacts of offshore drilling on marine mammals and coastal ecosystems, your input is crucial. BOEM is seeking comments on all 27 planning areas, including those along the Pacific coast.
