Position: Necropsy Manager
Location of Position: Marin Headlands, Sausalito, California 
Reports to: Associate Pathologist
Position Classification & Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:
Compensation Range: $70,720 - $80,308 annual salary.

Job Summary:
The Necropsy Manager facilitates smooth operation of the necropsy laboratory through management of logistics, consumables, equipment, maintenance of records, and samples. Through close collaboration with the Pathology & Diagnostics team, the position will facilitate the core activities of the diagnostic service: gross necropsy, histopathology, and biobanking of our marine mammal patients: California Sea Lions, Stellar Sea Lions, Northern Elephant Seals, Guadalupe and Northern Fur Seals, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, and Cetaceans. Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships with clinical investigators, staff, and external researchers and facilitating the collection, analysis, storage, and shipment of samples for collaborative research projects.

Position: Necropsy Technician 
Location of Position: Marin Headlands, Sausalito, California 
Reports to: Necropsy Manager
Position Classification & Expected Hours of Work, and Travel:
Compensation Range: $29.00 - $32.00/hr.

Job Summary:
The Necropsy Technician will perform various activities in support of the Pathology & Diagnostics team including gross necropsy, histopathology (trimming of cases), and support of the biobank archives of marine mammal patients: California Sea Lions, Stellar Sea Lions, Northern Elephant Seals, Guadalupe and Northern Fur Seals, Sea Otters, Harbor Seals, and Cetaceans.  They will assist in the collection, analysis, storage, and shipment of samples for collaborative research projects as well as the training of pathology participants of the Teaching Hospital program and The Marine Mammal Center’s visitors.
