We’re delighted to announce the release of two enhanced versions of the iPCoD (Interim Population Consequences of Disturbance) model: "iPCoD EE" and "iPCoD DEB”.

These are updates/variations build on the established iPCoD framework to better quantify disturbance effects on marine mammal populations.

iPCoD EE (Expert Elicitation) models the direct impacts of disturbance and auditory injury demographic rates such as fecundity and survival - with new additional functionality. It’s available for harbour porpoises, bottlenose dolphins, grey and harbour seal and minke whales (N.B.: EE transfer functions have been updated for some species over time).
iPCoD DEB (Dynamic Energy Budget) incorporates state-of-the-art DEB theory to track how animals allocate energy between maintenance, growth, and reproduction under varying disturbance regimes. It’s available for harbour porpoises only.
