The Marine Mammal Center, a non-profit employer, is seeking candidates for the full-time position of STAFF VETERINARIAN. This is a supervisory position reporting to the Director of Veterinary Science. The mission of The Center is to rescue, rehabilitate and release injured and sick marine mammals. The Center also conducts significant research and public education into health, disease and mortality of marine mammals.

The staff veterinarian is responsible for the clinical care of marine mammals in rehabilitation, under supervision of the Director of Veterinary Science. The candidate supervises and trains volunteers and visiting students in differential diagnosis, medical treatment, anesthesia, radiology, sample collection and processing, drug administration, gross necropsy, record keeping and animal husbandry. In addition to clinical care, the staff veterinarian must have the knowledge, interest, and ability to collaborate effectively with researchers, volunteers, husbandry and education staff. He/she must be able to communicate effectively before large and small gatherings, and work successfully on multidisciplinary teams to advance the mission of The Center.
