Pinniped
Specialist Position in Iceland
The Marine and Freshwater Research Institute in Iceland,
seeks an industrious and independent marine biologists to participate in pinniped research, based at the Icelandic Seal Centre in Hvammstangi, North West Iceland.
Main
areas of responsibility
Participation
in, and organisation of, varied ongoing research projects such as seal population censuses, behavioural studies, but also the organisation of new projects and related fund raising activities.
Educational
and competencies requirements

MSc- or Phd in biology/ecology
ˇ
Background in marine mammal research
ˇ
Advanced English, both spoken and written
ˇ
Interpersonal skills
ˇ
Good organisational skills and methodical working practices
ˇ
Statistical data analysis skills

Independence and initiative

Leadership skills
ˇ
Driving licence
ˇ
Experience of field work under adverse weather
