Senior Postdoctoral Researcher

Salary range: €45,540 - €48,205 p.a. (IUA Salary Scale)

Applications are invited for a 2 year senior postdoc position to work on the EU INTERREG funded SeaMonitor project. The Senior Post-Doctoral Researcher will investigate the space use, habitat, dive behaviour and interactions with fisheries of rehabilitated harbour seals fitted with devices that record and send data on location and dive parameters. The post will be based in the MaREI research centre in Cork, Ireland, with deployment of devices on seals in Northern Ireland. Given the cross-border nature of the position there will be a requirement for travel between Cork and Belfast for deployment of tags on seals, and travel across the programme area to attend project meetings.

A PhD and previous experience in working with telemetry data, preferably seals or other marine mammals is essential.
