Dear Colleagues,

On behalf of my coauthors, I’m very happy to share with you our latest publication on “The first record of the southbound movements of satellite-tagged pygmy blue whales (B. m. brevicauda) from Savu Sea (Indonesia) to the subantarctic waters”, Open Access at Marine Mammal Science: https://doi.org/10.1111/mms.13167.

The Note describes the first record of two pygmy blue whales migrating from eastern Indonesia to the sub-Antarctic waters (one whale travelled to ~500 km east of the Kerguelen Plateau), thus proving the connectivity between the tropical waters of Indonesia and the sub-Antarctic waters via the western waters of Australia.

Please send communications to my main JCU email, i.e., putu.liza@jcu.edu.au.

Have a nice weekend,

Icha
