https://doi.org/10.1578/AM.51.3.2025.213Our study provides the first spatial records of live franciscana dolphins (Pontoporia blainvillei) inhabiting the western portion of Ilha Grande Bay, at the northern limit of a Franciscana Management Area (FMA-IIa). The occurrence records of this elusive population are mainly within the boundaries of a Marine Protected Area (ESEC Tamoios), highlighting the critical role of this MPA in mitigating bycatch risks.
